For a "full" charge, the proper charging voltage is 16.8 volts. There are 7 cells, which are 2.4 volts each.

2.4A x 6 cells= 14.4 volts for a 12v batt

2.4A x 7 cells= 16.8 volts for a 14v batt

Yes these are going in my F150 to power 2 DC 3.5k amps. I am looking to get the most out of the amps and since I am already running dual alts independent of each other I figured I might as well upgrade the batteries for the sub amp to 14v batteries.

I may be understanding you incorrectly and if I am just overlook my suggestions. If you are going to run two separate voltage systems. Then run 1 12V system and 1 16V system. No real need to run separate systems with the 14V and if you do then you might as well jump up to the 16v level.

How many 1600s would you recommend to power 2 dc 3.5ks that are rated for 5100w at 18v? Also doesn't it take a specially made alt to run at 18v or could I just use the vcm to adjust my voltage up?
