CJ18
Nathan, What is the recommended and max alternator charging voltage for the D1400? I am planning on running 4-6 of them and using a Mike Singer 350a alt. Thanks Cody
hdorre
For a "full" charge, the proper charging voltage is 16.8 volts. There are 7 cells, which are 2.4 volts each. 2.4A x 6 cells= 14.4 volts for a 12v batt 2.4A x 7 cells= 16.8 volts for a 14v batt Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread

CJ18
Yes these are going in my F150 to power 2 DC 3.5k amps. I am looking to get the most out of the amps and since I am already running dual alts independent of each other I figured I might as well upgrade the batteries for the sub amp to 14v batteries. Nathan @ XSpower
I may be understanding you incorrectly and if I am just overlook my suggestions. If you are going to run two separate voltage systems. Then run 1 12V system and 1 16V system. No real need to run separate systems with the 14V and if you do then you might as well jump up to the 16v level.

How many 1600s would you recommend to power 2 dc 3.5ks that are rated for 5100w at 18v? Also doesn't it take a specially made alt to run at 18v or could I just use the vcm to adjust my voltage up?
