The 8 uses a 2" coil and the rest use a 2.5" coil. As to the original question, it depends on what you are after. If you want subs that are peak high you might look elsewhere than Sundown or Obsidian. However, if you want to play low, loud, and still sound good, Sundown or Obsidian subs are a solid contender. Two of them are built and designed by Jacob from Sundown and the other has his touches all over the woofer. So... I don't think you can lose with any of them, but to throw my opinion out there the sa12's are going to be your best bet. I already had fosgate power 6x9's and 6.5's so why not complete the system? oh and by the way, I liked all the sub's recommended, but i needed something I could have access to as a common consumer.

And your right man the sa's and obsidians just sound great and are loud as hell. You'll see me recommend them over and over because I know how great they are!!!!
