oil pressure sensor removal help

I have a 98 Hyundai Accent 1.5L and I been needing to change out oil pressure sensor I have deep sockets and even the special oil pressure sensor socket but they all slip or don't fit at all on the oil pressure sensor on the car, but they all grab perfect on the new one.

My thing is that its on block but behind the exhaust manifold and I have no where to get some vise grips on it without removing the manifold. This is supposed to be simple but my luck if I go to remove the manifold bolts seeing as they look factory but have that rusted look from always getting hot I'm afraid of goofing up the threading or breaking a bolt.

Do I let the car cool down then spray some PB buster on the bolts and try to remove them? Any other ideas? Thanks.

SOAK that sensor in PB blaster, I mean HEAVY coat. Let it sit a few minutes then get a 6 point deep socket and put on it and it should come right off. Sending units/sensors are always a bitch to get out.

Also, just because the new one is a certain size, doesn't mean the factory one is the same size. Hope your not rounding it off.

I'm afraid it felt like I started to round it a tiny bit. Thats when I left it alone. I did try with different sockets really looked for the tightest one really. I'm off for two days starting now so I'm about to step out right now to spray it with buster.

If it's already starting to round make sure you use a 6 point socket. It will atleast help some on not rounding it on off.

Been out there respraying my wiper arms black they had been faded down to nothing. I was able to get it off. I used a plumbing tool to change out the stems in the shower (hot cold stems) its hollow one side bigger than the other. Came off fine, Now the new one had some red loctite stuff on the threads and I stopped threading it about 3/4 way in because it started feeling tight and I don't want to over do it. I'll keep my eyes on it for the next few days. Thanks for advice

The red locktite looking stuff is more thread sealant than anything. I probably wouldn't put more than 20 foot pounds to it if it were me.

Thanks, lucky for it I was kneeling and didn't put all of my 330 foot LB'z on it lol.
