HazeGrey75
Current set up EA 200 amp HO/ Big 3 in 1/0 Group 34 Yellow Top/front Group 51 Yellow Top/back Crescendo BC2000 at .5ohms 2 Alpine Type Rs( getting replaced soon by 2 Level 4s ) I have one more group 51 coming for the rear to make 2 trunk batteries total(132 AH total) My Stinger multimeter is wired in with my HU and it drops much further then I felt it should. Even with nothing on it drops a .2/.3 at times. My Voltage control tops out at 13.8 but I cruise with nothing on at 13.6. It will drop to the 11s on some songs at interstate speeds. This is happening with the amp not even maxed out cause the Alpines only handle so much What do I do next? Please help, I dont want to smoke this amp
BassJunkie
Raise your impedance for daily use imo. Blackedout
The volt meter being on your headunit could be part of your problem. If the ground on your radio isn't perfect, it may not read the same voltage that your amps are actually seeing. Double check your voltage with a decent multimeter, at the amp. You may find better results. Edited August 18, 2011 by Blackedout Quote Trunk Build Log

HazeGrey75
Optima.. Its funny cause the voltage drops more at speed then at idle it seems, at less with the A/C on. I dont get it
Autruche
Wire subs to 2 ohms instead of .5 Was the big 3 done? try wiring you volt meter directly up to you battery. Check with DMM for accuracy. Quote Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? Berto
Do you know if your belts slipping? Try tightening it, cuz once the belt starts slipping you basically get no output at all from your alt. HazeGrey75
Do you know if your belts slipping? Try tightening it, cuz once the belt starts slipping you basically get no output at all from your alt. Ill check that.. When it drops it doesnt stay there long, it pops right back up. Im hoping the 2nd trunk batt will help enough to get by until I can save for a T2500bdcp Ive been wanting. It should be in tomorrow
HazeGrey75
I think I found the problem. I guess when the Alternator got installed the Big 3 terminal sparked on something. It was pretty burnt up. I changed it out and it even seems to idle better
SPLadd1ct
Hmmm XS power ftw?! Try one of their batteries out! You shouldn't have that much drop with a 200 amp alternator!
