Lanzar Optidrive 1533d

Recommended Posts

I have 1 1533d and its 1.2ohm per coil (dvc) and the sub is rated at 3000w rms. Does that mean that each coil can handle 1500w rms? I wunt 2 run 2 1500w amps on it. Any help would be appreciated!

Not to be a buzz kill, but you bought a way overrated sub. The coil isn't even a true 3 inch, so it can't even be reconed. I blew my 1233 on not even 1500w total, and no, the signal was not at all clipped. You will probly be lucky to see any reliability at even 1000wrms.

Ive personally seen them handle 2500wrms easily.

true 2500w and 2500w max is a whole different story man..

sony xplode amps say 4000w max, but you would be lucky to get 400w out of it...

and i gotta agree with detroit, ive seen how bad these can be, audiofanatics tried to recone one, because they blew it on 1400 rms....

you could see through the spiders, all stacked together, they were beyond thin...

You could have the motor turned in a lathe at a metal working shop to allow a true 3" coil.. but yeah, they're a tad bit weak :(

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.
