Trey_Dog650 Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 Currently i got 2 alpine type r 12" in a prefab box. But ive been driving a lot lately and filling up every 3 days is starting to kill me, being a full time college kid with school just starting dont help either lol So i been thinking about switching to 2 SA-8". They look like some beastly little subs! I would make my own box for them... Just wanted to know if i would loose a lot of "bass" by making the switch and if it would shed some pounds too. Im thinking it would cuz smaller box = less wood, but i have no idea how heavy those 8" subs are. Then again i really dont know... Any ideas? Smart switch or dumb. Thanks a lot for the help Quote 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head.

I guess its cuz i really doubled the amount of driving with hills thats killing me, but every pound loss really helps out, and i could use an excuse to try something new lol Edited August 19, 2011 by Trey_Dog650 Quote 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head.

Grey_Fox Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 (edited) What are your driving habits? What speeds do you drive in the city and on the interstate? How often do you check your tire pressure? Edited August 20, 2011 by Grey_Fox Quote

How often do you check your tire pressure? I do the speed limit, maybe 5 mph over at the most, unless im in a hurry in the city lol. I keep it at 60 most of the time but it crawls up to 70 when im not constantly checking on the highway. I think its mostly cuz of the new gf where she lives, its in the hills man! So i think thats whats killing me, hence me wanting to lose some weight in the trunk. I just checked the tire pressure a few weeks ago... could do it again tho. Sanitarium Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 So... you want to shed 10 pounds from your 3000+ pound car and expect it to make a noticeable difference in gas mileage? LMAO That is all. Quote
