datmexicankid Posted August 25, 2011 Report Share Posted August 25, 2011 what up guys so im kinda new to this im doing it on my own (no friends are into it like me) this last winter i bought a 04 Malibu maxx hatch back specificaly for subs because i read up on it and heard that hatchbacks are the way to go for loud bass so i then got a pair of poss phantom 12's and gave them there own 1500 watt boss phantom amp (more like 300 watts) but anyways i just wanted some cheap stuff so i could learn and play and not really worry about it but any who just officaly sold them today in a 4th order sounded decent but i want MOREE so im thinking ill move up a notch and run 2 obsidian audio 15d2 wired down to 1 ohm apiece at like 800 to 1000 watts rms in a custom box about 4ft^3 per sub at about 35 hz what u guys think would that be a good next step? by the way big 3 done and extra batt going to be incorporated i have done alot of homework Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sounds like a decent little setup. dont cheap out on a amp. get something that will do rated RMS and you will be happy. 727Designs Posted August 25, 2011 Report Share Posted August 25, 2011 Are you wanting to run 2 separate amps at 1 ohm, or run 1 at .5ohms? Probably be better off to just get 2 D4's and run them at 1 ohm off of something like an AQ2200D or something. Don't cheap out on electrical though. Atleast a good battery in the back, with some 1/0 and the big 3 done in 1/0.
