also, if it is $370 to fix an amp thats only a year old, not even two yet, that means you have no warranty.........didnt purchase from authorized dealer? That SUCKS cuz if you did it wouldnt cost you shit to have looked at and they usually ship back to you pretty quick on their dime...

Everyone, theres your lesson for the day, buy AUTHORIZED or ROLL THE DICE! :D

here's your lesson stevie: i bought both of our amps from high desert audio who we know is RF selling their refurbs on ebay. they both do that. i also bought a punch 400.2 that had the same noice issue and a t1kbd for my brother that had to go back under warranty because it showed up DOA. how bout some support, holler at your RF homies and say "what tha fuck homes?"

BOOSt is anything that changes the original sound format to compensate for things like in car freq response. The RF 360 is just 1 fancy bass boost (well equalizer for all bands you can possibly want to use. Its how you use the boost. You have a 18db boost, and crank it all the way up, its gonna raise the Q of the box/sub so high, it sounds like shit, but if you have a nice amp, like a Rf Power, or even a PP! which has the adjustable bass boost, adjustable frequency boost, that is there to help with sound, if you dont have a fancy equalizer. If you start crankin knobs up until shit gets loud, garuntee your gonna blow speakers. But it is there for a reason, to help with sound, frequency reinforcement.

BUT you can also use boost, or bass EQs as a cross over, if it has something like 12db- 0 12db+ you can use the Negative to set the crossover frequency to a much higher slope. If you have a selectable bass boost from say 30-300hz, and you have a crossover you can set at 12db @say 60hz, you can actually make a 24db+ low pass xover, that will help get rid of all that upper freq nasty bass sounds

But for the most part, Boost is there for a reason, to help, its the installer who needs to be responsable, and know how to use it...

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

i believe you get a 3 month warranty on hda. thats a chance you take on a refurb.

and what's a refurb? a NEW product that took a shit. and hda is rockford fosgate, so you would assume they know how to work on their shit right? at least i do.

lol....well it was interesting to know in a way

oh it is an interesting read....but not all amps are created equal. It looks like an aweful small amp for a sub that big as well....i mean if i hook up a punch 200 to my BTL and crank up the gain, then smash on the bass knob, there would probably be some clipping....

The key is to have a big enough amp to drive the sub cleanly, even with the bassknob, BEFORE it clips.
