White Lightning Posted May 6, 2012 Report Share Posted May 6, 2012 Just had a chance to demo this ride in the past week or so ... Very impressive !!! Hell, what impressed me the most is his variety of music ... Thought that he stole my hard drive for a minute there ... Well planned out Sub bass setup ... Great tuning for that vehicle ... Very musical with PLENTY of bump !!! As far as the front stage goes ... I was very impressed with the CDT component set ... and his installation choices ... Nice work Sir !!! Now, He asked me about my opinions on Sound Quality ... So here we go ... Like I said, The front setup sounded great, but some things needed to be changed to get up to Sound Quality status ... The door 6.5s sounded good ... but alot of frequency missing (yes, I was comparing then to my Blues Car Audio drivers) ... I asked him to remove the 6.5s off of the crossover and run them full band pass to see what would happen ... He did that and ... After we listened, we ended up matching the bottom end oof the 6.5s to the toop end of the subs ... I will chime in and let you know what he thought about it before I give my thoughts ... His kick pannels sound great, but to stage and image like it should, recommendation would be to move the tweeters up on the a-pillars and aim them at each other and up towards the rear view mirror ... Hope he gets that done soon ... Mabe he wants to keep the kicks the same and add another set of tweeters up on the As ... either way is fine ... bottom line ... very impressive system !!! and I hope to see him winning a few "Sound Quality" trophies very soon ... Have them active high pass at 80hz and the whole car is a new beast from just changing the xover on the doors moved the whole stage up! Next week will be getting tweeters on the a-pillars and some mid tweeters in the rear for rear fill should add alot of depth and better staging to the whole car! Thanks cableguy for all the help! !! ( those were both burnt out before this haha very bright plate lights haha trunk all lit up ! more to come as i do them haha still waiting for pay day to get those tweeters for the a-pillar comments please and remember to vote for me for SOTM !!!! michigancapri92 Posted May 12, 2012 Author Report Share Posted May 12, 2012 got the last part of my EXTERNAL lighting done !! started sanding the lens where the paint was some 400 grit sanding to start smoothing after some 2000 grit wet sanding installed with led strip !! looks very good ... gives it that good Audi look :-) more pics of interior soon also ordered my tweeters for the a-pillar should be hear middle of next week !!! Thats it for now !
