nah to do what i was talking about, you'd wind up obstructing those upper ports. i was talking about just a 10" wide board going accross directly under each sub.

That's what I figured hence the reason I posted the picture.

I will agree that this is not the most efficient box I've designed but it's done every thing I wanted it to.

Just looking for input on how I should build the next one.

You need to make a normal slot port box for once in yo damn life fucker!!!!!

Box in the area behind the box.

Make sure no air can go own beside the box or where the ports are.

Like do beauty panels from the rear port holder to th front of the box

mine was about 8.5 cubes.

Going smaller will do 2 things.

1. Raise the frequency to be supported with port tuning. That is to say, the F3.

If you have a tuning calculator you can check this for your subs.

2. Increase impedance rise. Which can lower efficiency but also increase durability of the woofers electrically, but increased cone pressure can decrease mechanical durability.

In my mind, SPL potential will be reduced for the sake of adding a 2nd amp. I wouldnt do it.

Nope, most of the time its bigger boxes that have less rise. There is a peak point though

It's kind of sad knowing I have double the power available and not being able to use it.

What would you recommend to optimize what I have now, Ed?

I just want to hit that 150 once and I'll be happy.

Also, are you saying that because my box is 7 cubes, it could actual be causing the subs to move more since there is more back pressure?

first thing I would recommend to try is ONE port instead of all those small ones...

also... sorry for not knowing but I didn't see what kind of vehicle... and how this current box is setup in the vehicle. that can help too... I'll look again to see if I can answer my own question though...
