Purplehaze Posted December 4, 2011 Report Share Posted December 4, 2011 +1, definitely get that wire in the amp right man... you have all that bare wire exposed on both pos. and grnd....and a penny sliding around on top of your amp..if that penny slid off the side and made contact with both of those...well, it'd be all bad man. You can always just wrap electric tape around the wire, only leaving enough exposed to fit into the amp. Oh and good job so far, I'm liking this build! It will help you alot with voltage Do realize a Jeep Cherokee of this vintage doesnt actually have a frame right? they are unibody. That being said, find the thickest shit you can to ground out to. basshead8569 Posted December 15, 2011 Report Share Posted December 15, 2011 from what ive heard they get pretty loud easy. im planning on putting a type r on about 500 rms in my 99 ive seen video of a cvr 10 flexing the roof so i know im gonna need to do something about that. but yeah they do get pretty loud My friend has a jeep like yours. Can not remember the year. But, I gave him 2 of my old kicker cvr 12" from like 04-05. And a 1500watt amp. And it made the roof flex. Nice thing about the Jeeps. They give ya a lot of room to work with.... Current system (still building) 2 kicker 12" dcvr in factory kicker ported box, Rockford Fosgate 1200.1 Amp, Kenwood ddx-470 ddin radio, Rockford Fosgate 0 Gauge wiring, Rockford Fosgate punch 6X8 2 way speakers.
