what mean by modded?

mate just orderd one of the 14k2e and i was considering it but the 16-18v version?

best to learn as much as possible. think other mate had one similar wired it up and fryed something. got fixed free tho..

The modded amps are able to run from 12-18v. Alot of them that are modded are the 14k2d. I dont know of any modded 14k2e amps. Some how the modded amps are easier to find than the not modded.

The mod they do makes it be able to run from 12v-18v. Alot of the amps i know of, have extra caps in them so they are more stable on low voltage. From what DB-R said on a post is that awhile back. The extra caps is one of the worst things they could have done. It makes the amp so unstable when you turn it on because of all the power that is left in the caps has a tendency of making them smoke when turning them on

That just makes it more prone to DIE on startup from the massive inrush of current through the power supply to charge twice as many caps.... tisk tisk... Bad idea to put so many huge rail caps in an amp like that. I told Stetsom it was a bad idea, but what can you do when people don't listen...

its the modded stetsoms that have problems with frying starting up.

If you are just going to get a 18v stetsom you will be fine. I would try to find a 14k2d 18v tho and stay away from the k2e series
