You are right, once you get your alt woes resolved, the other amp, and the sides sealed off, it is going to go buck wild. There was a big difference in the lows once I got mine sealed- it will cure your cancellation problems. And the hood shake??? And as for getting this box in this car, took a lot of careful planning and measuring, and a lot of heavy liffting and struggling! haha 2000 zx2: Rebuild with 8 12s on a 10k underway!! Still a lot louder than my 1 15 was off of the same amp. Car is not completely walled off yet either as you can prolly tell by how much the trunk is flexing.
