do you guys catch alot of flak from your parents/wives

I'm kind of crazy when it comes to money so in short no I don't hear shit from my wife.

This is for 2 reasons...

1) I always pay cash (or charge in situations where I can't pay cash and just pay it off at the end of the month)

2) I always have an emergency fund.

Now #2 is pretty important... Actually no, it's very important. You need to think about how much money of yours has to go out every month to stay afloat and then figure out how many months of a cushion you want. Once you do that you get to that figure and THEN spend. Now if you did this and you had the sensor thing come up you pay for it, save back up to your level, and then you are ready to spend again.

I know it might sound crazy man, but trust me, when you have those funds there money is never ever a worry again and it kicks ass. The key is not to spend it... haha

I have 12 months worth of bills in the bank, and then some. I always keep 12 moth there just in case. Now, you'll notice I still haven't bought my C63. I'm still shopping for it, I'm still going to get one, I''m just having a really hard time parting with my money...I like the feeling that, if something happens I'm covered.

i do the same. (started with three months worked up to six months now working on nine months) I could pay off every bill I have car truck etc and it hurts to think of htat big swing.

100% agree with both of you and IMO cash is king so I for one would rather make a payment on something with a dirt cheap note than be low on cash. Shit happens and unless you have the cash to make it through that kind of crap your shit is on the lawn. I know it's a waste of money to pay on shit I technically don't have to, but making a payment is easy, should everything go to hell in a hand basket I can cover my payments no problem, but if I cleaned out my emergency funds to pay everything off and something happened say goodnight.

Some people got different problems ,but when were talking about car audio my wive it's a basshead too .... she recently gave me a 12"re audio mx she knows that I'm happy with my hobby so she does that kind of things ! but at the same time I try to do the same thing with her.
