Mechman Alternators

Alternator for a Kia?

Recommended Posts

So I own a 2006 Kia Spectra Ex, I am going to get a yellowtop in the front and a Kinetik in the back.

I am looking at 2 different options....

First option...

Single Alt to power my whole vehicle and system

Second option...

Stock Alt for the vehicle electronics and second (mechman?) alt for the sound system.

Problem is...I can't find a proper alt for my vehicle mount system, not that I have looked at a whole ton of them, (will be looking at mechman after work).

Any ideas? suggestions?

Price is not a problem.

My soundsystem has....

Amps:

T5001-bd

T600-4

Speakers:

sub - single P3 12"

mids/highs - T1 6.5" components

T1 6.5 Coaxial

Just looking to be able to blare my shit daily without having volume drop due to dieing battery and shitty alt...

Thanks,

Mike W

I Love Bass.

I prefer sound quality.

Good luck finding a spot to mount a 2nd alt, much less a "bracket kit". On my car I have to remove the ac compressor just to have a spot, and the bracket has to be custom made. I think the brackets are usually only available for common vehicles.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I would try reaching out the one of the guys at Mechman and ask them the question. Not all vehicles are made to handle dual alts. So your best bet might be to get the biggest alt you can and fill in with XS Power batts

Also, just looking at what you said you were planning on running, you should be fine on one good alt and two good batts. :drinks:

I don't have anything that is a direct bolt-in for you right now. We are working on a fit for your application in the near future as we are starting to see some demand.

As for a second unit, it will be hard to do but I can provide you with very compact Denso units from 220a to 320a.
