SnowDrifter
I have a tall box designed to hold a single sub. My question is do I put it towards the top? The middle? Down towards the port? I can't seem to find any info on this. Here is the box in question Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

dwright27
I would do middle or by the port. Put a roundover on the port wall as well. Probably help a little. BassJunkie
Personally id put it furthest away from the port, so in this case at the top. But with this design depending on the drivers weight you may make this box unstable if its going to stand upright like that. EDIT: I think nearest to the port would work the best after looking at it again. lifted_silverado
I've always been told as far away from the port as possible. I never questioned the reasoning behind it, just did as recommended. Maybe a few others can enlighten on the subject Quote Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year. dwright27
If you place it by the opening of the port inside the box you'll probably have unloading issues. SnowDrifter
The sub weights about 30lbs, but whether its at the top of the box or at the bottom - it's a non issue since the box will be in a corner with a shelf boxing it in so all sides except the baffle will have coverage So the question is top or bottom? lifted_silverado
If tipping over isnt an issue then go to the top furthest from port opening Quote Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year.
