chronic2001
I've been looking into sundown a lot lately. Now that sundown is having the October sale I thought it might be time to make a move. They have a deal on the sax-1200d amp. So I was wondering in a ported enclosure what would the differences be in spl and sq? I was thinking of getting 1 15z at first but now for the price maybe 2 sa15's. I know the z's are rated at 1000rms and the sa's at 600rms but both can take a lot more. This will be in a suv off the 1200d. I'm just trying to get the best SQL combo. So with that being said, would 1 15z, 1 sa15, 2 sa15's be the best combo. This will be for daily. I just don't know how 1200watts will sound on the different combos. I was thinking 2 sa15's getting 600rms a piece but, would 1 sub being pushed passed it's rated rms be as loud or sound as good. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome. bassrace
I'd go for 2 sa 15"s more cone area. BeAlLsTaR13
First of all, what vehicle will this be going in? If it's a trunk car, IMO I'd do either 1 sa15 or 2 sa12s, a lot of trunks can't fit the 6ish cubes the pair of sa15s would want adequately Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------
chronic2001
As I stated in my original post( this will be in a suv off the 1200d). I can't tell you specifically what suv because I'm not buying a new truck for another couple months. I just know I'm getting a suv because we get bad winters n Indiana and I need 4x4. I just figured I'll get my equipment now when it's on sale n save a couple hundred. Thanks for the input guys. If sundown thinks 2 sa15 then I'll probably end up going that route. Input is still welcome though. Jmoney18
Yep, I had 2 sa 15's in my jeep off a sax 1200 and it sounded very nice. 2 15's have more cone area like the other guys said, you'd be happy. I actually made a video if you want to see it let me know. Hope that helps!
