pstone11 Posted December 1, 2011 Author Report Posted December 1, 2011 So, some progress pics - - The trunk lid is a terrible weak spot so I pulled it and deadened it up... foamed the hollow spaces first, then two coats of spectrum on the single layers of sheetmetal, then 1-3 layers of damplifier on top of that. There was this terrible rusted out area on the inside of the trunk lid that I had to take care of - I'm not a paint and body man at all but some seriouus sanding, treating, primer and black gloss sure made it look perfect Check out StoneSounds to see my recent builds.Or look at the Flying White Facebook Page!

BUT i love the look of ur ride man. great equipment..(except for that kinetik batt in rear..shoulda stuck with xs power) like other ppl said its almost classy looking.. i think its so funny when ppl do old skool cars do 26 28s etc do a batman theme paintjob or whatever..and make it look SO cheesy u did this 1 RIGHT
pstone11 Posted December 1, 2011 Author Report Posted December 1, 2011 Took it into the shop for a bit to get the pipes put on - true duals to flowmasters to 16" long 3" cut tips... they did a perfect job, pipes are even, level, and it sounds perfect - quiet cruising, loud when you want it to be. This thing is barely creeping by on 26's with a spring lift that is riding like a stock old school boat. The kenetik was the perfect size and the perfect fit for this sucker - - - I love XS power but this battery is just as reliable and the exact thing I needed. Excellent crafstmanship bro and attention to detail. ive got a 84 caprice wagon i just picked up to rebuild. Was looking into doin the dakota digital and i must say by the looks of the pics it looks very intricate and involved. how long did it take to install everything for the dash

Make sure you have a good schematic of the factory wiring before you try anything though - not plug and play at all. Dakota sends the vehicle specific directions on how to install the physical dash assembly, but not how to wire it. If you just want basic functions, it is cake... Speedo, tach, and fuel need to be calibrated. Dimmer and gear shift indication are a different story too - couple few hours to install those options. edit - - good day to get it in and working... maybe another day to tweak and calibrate it.
