They can and will overheat at full tilt (assuming you're doing around max output on them) and burn up eventually. How long? Who knows... The manufactures generally say a song or two full tilt with some down time for the alts to cool. The LS2's run hot as fawk and I'll play mine as much as I want even in 90+ degree weather. Thing is though I wouldn't be surprised if I saw smoke. If you want super long play time and to be safe you need to have a bigger bank to run engine off or way less draw than the max your alts will put out.
