I drive a 1999 Jeep Cherokee with a Fi BTL 18 being powered by 2 Rockford Fosgate T1500 watt amps right now. I have an optima yellow top up front, and I have run zero guage for the big 3. I still have my stock alternator, and my volts are dropping down to 11.5/12 at full tilt. If I listen to it long enough at that rate, my volts will drop below 9 and I start clipping my sub. I can't find any aftermarket alternator for my truck that carries more volts than stock. I'm going to be running a second optima yellow top in the back this spring, and if that doesn't keep my amps up, i'm going to have to mount a second alternator in place of my ac compressor. I was just wondering if anyone has run more than 1 alternator in a jeep cherokee, and if so, how was it done and was there a big difference noticed? Thanks for the help ahead of time...

Welcome to the forum. Nice set up btw. Look at the mechman site, its one of the square banners at the top of the page. They'll build you a custom alt. nej89 Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 well as of right now everything is out of my car because i am getting ready for winter and is setting in my bedroom....ill see if i cant get some pics of the woofer and amps while they are out of the jeep so u can see the box i built for the woofer....the box is about 8cubic feet tuned to 32hz...all 45's on the inside and two wooden dowls on the inside 2" in diameter for support with the top panell being 1.5 inches
REMT15 Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 solid choice on amps and sub. DC,mechman,or excessive amperage. give them all a call to compare prices. those yellow tops aint gone cut it lol. xs power,shuriken,kinetik,and deka. deka's are pretty good for the price
