Strip your big wire with a razor blade. Slice around, pull off. Any name brand strippers should last you years.

Orion is spot on, using stripers for 1/0+ is way too much work compared to a razor. All you do is spin the razor around the jacket and it comes right off. As for the others, I have a couple Kleins as well, but just for crimping and stripping 8g and under.

If at first you do not succeed, you are doing it wrong! -ARS

These are the (4) wire strippers any good installer has on hand.....

The far right are Klein 0g and large cutters, the next are your Klein dual groove crimps, the next are your Klein speed strippers, and the last are for like alarms and small gauge wires. Hope this helps...

Lol i got the ones on the ends. The one on the far right is what i called cable cutter. Idk if thats the right name haha

Kleins are the best.. red handle.. never broke a pair yet. Then I use some quality stripper for up to 10g.. then my utility knife for 0g. Plus I have $180 dollars 0g crimpers that look like bolt cutters :-) oh and of course red handle klein cable cutters go through 3/0 -0g with ease. They will take a finger off easy

i just use the big cutters. light squeeze on one side, rotate 90* squeeze again and rotate the wire while squeezing. little practice and you can do it without cutting much of any wire (1-5 strands) and there is no chance of cutting yourself. be safe bro :drinks:

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

I'm going to get kleins. I noticed some of their tools are pretty pricy, but I guess depending on what you need them for the price reflects the quality of the tools. The tips you guys have for stripping zero gauge wire is going to help me out a lot and cut down on the time, but do you think this would work or would be a waste of time?

I do like the hammer crimper. Would be perfect especially if you don't want to solder.
