AA98hoe
Wait what kind of songs are you playing when they get stinky cause you could be playing below your tuning frequency. X2.. this is the 1st thing I thought of. If your tuned to 37 and your trying to play gucci and jeezy that's your problem most gucci is low 30s jeezy is 30s 40s. Put your subsonic at 1o'clock.. and tune your box lower.. I can raill hard on my system with airforces.41hz but put in some low 30s shit with subsonic set low waaaallaaaa! Instant smell and I'm tuned to 35. Try playing a variety of songs . And tuning by ear is possible my ear is right on with the dd 1. qcbangin
so when tuning by ear, what exactly do i listen for?
cjvue
I listen to distortion (at the level where it can't be any louder regardless of how much gain). Listen to sub exursion (flappy noise). eaglescorpio1
you listen for the dd-1's distortion light to come on man. lol!! sounded funny. its so scary to tune with the ear. some people are better than others. i set mine with a dmm and peak light on my audison. from what i understand the light is set up to come on before any clipping. but by ear...... its so dangerous. cause even if you don't think your distorting, there might be distortion ur not hearing. Loud as f*ck, and sounds good doing it. Team built from here on out!!!! BIG things to come......... Missing link is the shite!!!

mlstrass
playing too far below tuning for too long will get them stinky, as will your voltage dropping and sending a dirty signal. I'm guessing it's a combo of both things Higher freqs can also get them stinky if you have a lot of power since the sub moves very little, so not much cooling. I'm running a single 18 off 2 3500's in my daily beater and I can easily get it stinky with that much power, but backing off a little and it's fine.
