Baydestrian Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) Also don't bother with Carfax unless the car is new and still under a warranty, even then its iffy. Carfax is optional, dealers will usually update the Carfax but if the car was taken to a local mechanic unless the person updates the carfax themselves it won't be listed. Just something to think about, only good for seeing how many owners the car has had. Katt Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Even if you did look it up. Its still useless. I would inspect every aspect in person. Do a check on everything. And try for a few days. And last I checked, It was illegal to run a Vin check? I tried when i was searching for the previous owner and a abandoned car left for repair. And got no where.
