Im sure i could find the answers i need i just need to look further into it. waiting to see how the rest plays out. BlackWhizz Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 I would highly recommend running resistors, and 12v Vregs with your LED's. A car power supply is very volatile, and it will kill led's, especially the cheap ones. I use 7812-style vregs, they each handle 1 amp of current and put out 12v steady. I buy them in packs of 5 from my local electronics supply store for $3. In my expericience using a 7805 the result is not very good. You'll get a alternator whine noise alike when using those chips. Better put a resistor in seris with those leds so it can handle up to your charging voltage.
