SoundOfViolence Posted November 10, 2011 Report Share Posted November 10, 2011 So i'm starting my first build and im going down to best buy this weekend to pick me up a h/u and I don't know what i should be looking for exactly. I got stock speakers in my car and i'll have a Fi X12 sub and a AQ750 amp. My limit is $150ish. Got any recommendations or tips for buying a head unit? draper Posted November 10, 2011 Report Share Posted November 10, 2011 I love how kenwood sets their controls up and that you get a remote with most of them. Especially if you do a lot of highway driving, it is safer if you have a remote control for your hu because you don't have to move your eyes off the road to turn it up or change the song. Also What are you wanting to play cds,mp3,ipod? With Most kenwoods you can get a specific cord for an ipod and run that directly from the back of the unit to the glove box. I like that feature so i can keep my ipod locked up. Looked great and never gave me problems. armykyle1 Posted November 10, 2011 Report Share Posted November 10, 2011 in the 150 range I'm going to say pioneer... You can get a 7 band eq and 4v pre outs. I've had this pioneer for a while, I blew the pico fuse which is an easy fix and still worth it. I've owned JVC, eclipse and alpine too. pioneer and JVC are my tops.
