KillaCam Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 Got all new pads and rotors but the brake light is still on. Its because the brake pads are supposed to have sensors in them but I got some ceramic ones without sensors. Is there a way to get the light turned off? Its annoying my instrument cluster blinking and beeping and it covers up my whole info screen. Its a 2000 passat gls 1.8L turbo. HatersGonnaHate Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 Check your brake fluid level. The sensor in there might be stuck and it's causing the light to be triggered. So either tap the master cylinder lightly and see if you can jar the sensor free, or if you can stick a skinny screwdriver in the master cylinder and knock the sensor free that way. Just make sure you get no brake fluid on the paint!!!! KillaCam Posted November 11, 2011 Author Report Posted November 11, 2011 Brake fluid is all good. Ill try giving the master cylinder a wack but Im pretty sure the problem is the pads seeing as theres no sensor its reading it as if the pads are warn out. HatersGonnaHate Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 German engineering... Lol, of course they would put sensors in the damn pads. Why can't they just stick with the squeal indicators??? Why can't they just stick with the squeal indicators??? Because of tards not being able to listen to it, majority of german car owners are women who do all their makeup while driving, and talking on the phone. They're too damn "busy" to listen for the squeal indicator. Quote 2015 Honda Civic LX 4dr | 110k miles | Stock 1996 GMC Yukon SLT 4dr 4wd | 260k miles | JVC Head-unit
