Lucky4Designs
This is just the start of my build log. I have ran into a few problems I thought I would post to see if you guys had any ideas. I have already gotten my Kenwood KDC-135 installed, Line Out Converter installed (Preamps on the back of the unit went bad for some reason). I have Alpine Type R 6.5's up front and Type R 4x6's in the rear(no amps yet :/). The only problem I'm having right now is where I'll be running my power wire (see pictures). I am a little nervous about doing this, I've never had to drill into the firewall for any of my vehicles but it looks like this is going to be the only way. My other problem is how I'm going to build the box! (once again, see pics) It's already pretty well confirmed I'm not going to get the 0.8 cft^3 @ 34hz by building under the seat, so I decided to make the box a little shallow, but a little wide and flush mount my SA-8 between the front and rear seats so they don't get in the way. Here's the pictures: This is how small of an area I'm working with (amp is only temporary, SPL Audio Z2X820) Yeahhh, not a whole lot of space. I know, my truck is very dirty right now but she will be cleaned up prior to build Where to run power wire!? Not seeing any entries over here Where I was originally thinking of drilling into the firewall. Looks a little iffy with the A/C lines, though. Center of the front of the firewall. directly behind the intake manifold... Possible points of entry? Those two bolts look a little deceiving... Thought this would be a LOT easier than it actually is! More photos will be posted as I progress. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!
