detroitdiesel Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Hey all, I was goin to put my old Orion xtr pros in my gmc safari, but instead decided to go with puttin them in my Sonoma. Anyways, what do you guys all think about the box I came up with? It basically a rectangular sealed box thats 45 inches long, 12 and 15/16 inches tall and 15 and 5/8 inches wide. This makes the box around 4 cu ft. Also two are firing towards the seat, and the other two are on top inveted and wired accordingly. They will will be ran by a ap3000d at 2 ohms. Also, I am going to pictures tonight once I get all finished.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. I could only go about 46" max, so I am puting the two in from to see how it works. Also, I wanted to port it, but the box size needed will take up far to much room.

I think either that I will have to build another box with just 2 or 3 of the subs facing the same direction, because this one has big cancleation issues. It's only a fraction louder overall than the single 12 ported box I last had in it, and it doesn't even hit the lows as good, not to mendiob it's super quiet with the doors closed and the windows rolled up. I'll post a pic tonight. Not very happy with it at all.

But yeah, not enough air space for 4 12s. You have lots of options, but 1 12 done properly will sound much better than 4 stuffed into a space they wont fit in.
