LT.Smoke
There is no such thing as which is better... Its all in how you set your system up and tune in and how well the box is built.... Every factor comes into play to determining which would provide a better setup for you personally Quote Team MaxRetribution Si Vis Pacem Parabellum Id rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 Bowhunting- Life Begins and Ends at Full Draw Bowhunting Team Fatal Trajectory Hunt Team http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/49335-sick96vtecaccords-t-line-build/?hl=sick96vtecaccord << Accord Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/68498-smokedout08impalas-tline-build/?hl=+sick96vtecaccord << Impala T-line build Rebassed.com for all your music needs 👌
Guest
I'd go with the newer one. You can wire it to one ohm and that amp will give it 500w

Guest
If you want to use the Alpine amp, then you'd want the 1st link Look at the power ratings for the alpine amp. 500 at one ohm and 1000 at two ohms. That newer one would suit him much better, imo
hdorre
If you want to use the Alpine amp, then you'd want the 1st link Yeah, I saw. I thought that the specs were mixed up because most Amps output more lower at 1 ohm than 2. I shouldve doneore research. Look at the power ratings for the alpine amp. 500 at one ohm and 1000 at two ohms. That newer one would suit him much better, imo Yeah, I saw that. The site says that the amp puts out more power at the higher impedance though, which seemed odd. I went to Alpines site, and it says 600@4 and 1000@2 Just because the amp outputs all that power doesn't need that it needs to. Just adjust the gain knob accordingly. http://mobile.alpine-usa.com/mobile/product/mrx-m100/features/ Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
Torres
setting the gain knob accordingly means matching the the output voltage coming from the head unit. doesn't mean he's going to be using all the power constantly. unless he's playing tones full blast, the amp won't be at full throttle

I mean, the only legit difference is the looks, and basket design. Same motor and construction. I own the '07's personally just because I think they look a bit cooler.
