Drillrig52 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 I'm going to be putting 2 15s in the backseat of my car. But I'm not sure what the best position for the subs and port will be. Ex. Subs up port back I think will be loudest. It's a small 4 door Corolla and the equipment will include 2 sa-15s off of a rockford amp. The box I am building will be 6 cubic ft tuned to 35hz. 93 Toyota Corolla Big 3 1/0 Wire Rockford P400.4 Rockford T1000.1BD Rockford R-Series Components up front POS Kicker KS650 Coaxials rear deck 2 Sundown SA-15s Alpine CDE-123 Head Unit Custom Sub Box 5.8cubes 31hz
TeamHT Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Don't put it in the back seat. That is so ghetto Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
bassrace Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Why the backseat? Why not a wall? or the trunk? 145.9@40hz 145.3@34hz big 3 X2 group 34 Deka Group 31 All 0/1 awg jl meta wire Alpine CDA 7894 Orion HCCA D5000 2 AQ HDC312's Crunch gpv1100.2 (for 6.5"s only) AQ pro audio 6.5" - 3 sets AQ supertweeters - 2 sets 2000 Slamry
Drillrig52 Posted November 16, 2011 Author Report Posted November 16, 2011 Will not fit in the trunk. And its not going to be just sitting on the seat itself. Everything is coming out and I'm going to build a platform for the box to sit on that I can also bolt it down to. I also don't think I have enough experience to build a wall and tune it right. I live in albuquerque NM and there isn't a whole lot of knowledge floating around this area. 93 Toyota Corolla Big 3 1/0 Wire Rockford P400.4 Rockford T1000.1BD Rockford R-Series Components up front POS Kicker KS650 Coaxials rear deck 2 Sundown SA-15s Alpine CDE-123 Head Unit Custom Sub Box 5.8cubes 31hz

I would say subs up port back ( which will most likely be the best, but idk ), there is a bunch of options. But if you go subs up port back and you dont like it you could flip it to try subs forward port up and subs back port up....... I would also recommend making sure there is no air going into the trunk, you would probably lose some good output due to air leaks to the trunk if you dont seal the holes, gaps, ect. up. 145.9@40hz 145.3@34hz big 3 X2 group 34 Deka Group 31 All 0/1 awg jl meta wire Alpine CDA 7894 Orion HCCA D5000 2 AQ HDC312's Crunch gpv1100.2 (for 6.5"s only) AQ pro audio 6.5" - 3 sets AQ supertweeters - 2 sets 2000 Slamry
Drillrig52 Posted November 16, 2011 Author Report Posted November 16, 2011 Ok, so I think ill build the box like that and see what happens, if it doesn't sound right ill rebuild till I'm content. Right now the sub and port are firing from the backseat into the trunk and it slams hard for only 1 15. I do have the trunk sound deadened pretty well also. Does anyone have experience doing a backseat build like this? 93 Toyota Corolla Big 3 1/0 Wire Rockford P400.4 Rockford T1000.1BD Rockford R-Series Components up front POS Kicker KS650 Coaxials rear deck 2 Sundown SA-15s Alpine CDE-123 Head Unit Custom Sub Box 5.8cubes 31hz
