Are kerf ports as efficient as aeroports?

Im doing as much research as i possibly can before i build this next box. id like it to be very efficient. but id like to know which is the most efficient type of port between a slot port, aeroport, or a kerf. i know a kerf is a lot of work, but ive got time and patience for it. Can someone please explain the pros and cons of kerf ports and what applications they work best in?

If it helps, ive got a vehicle and equipment list:

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

12" AA Mayhem d2 subwoofer

AQ2200d amplifier

2 stock batteries

all 0 gauge shok wire

EDIT: im talking about like a one sided kerf port. not all 4 lol

Nope. Nothing currently on the market is more efficient than an aeroport. Also, it will be hard for a port with corners (ie. square, rectuangular, triangular) to be as efficient as a port with no corners (a circle).

A kerfed port IS, however, a good bit more efficient than a regular square-edged port.

They are slightly more efficient than a slot port without one. But even then they are DAMN SEXY and thats why I like them.

Depends on your kerf job and final port mouth area and expansion rate. If you build it identical to an aero then of course it will be the same efficiency wise.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.

Do what? Its all in the final box design you chose.

In a kerfed port design, the radius of the kerf can make or break the box. In any box under 10 cubes, I would use aeros for numbers, over 10 cubes, I am doing a slot port and then test with kerf from PVC to see if it helps or hurts. It isn't a one size fits all once you get to a very large box. That last part was just for a why not mention it lol.

A kerfed square or rectanglular port simply cannot be as efficient as a round one because, for a given port area, the square or rectangle will have more internal surface area.
