not in the corner. as long as you keep the port area consistent throughout the whole port, including the corner where the 45 is, you're good to go. you don't want the distance from the corner of the port to the 45 any smaller than the width of the port, or that will pinch the air some.

But since the turn is smoother the losses on the turn will be lower so tuning has to change a bit.

Anyhow with properly calculated port area and H/W < 9 you should not need any port smoothing.
