Sergeant_Skyrim Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 I'm basically trying to determine whether to do closer to a 3.5 cu. ft. or 4.5 cu. ft. box since I'm going to have them hooked up to a power greater than the RMS Rating. These are the minimum and maximum recommended ported box sizes. I think I remember reading somewhere that smaller boxes require more power and larger boxes don't require as much power. If this is true, then does that also mean that if I'm giving it more power than RMS I should move towards a smaller box? One last question, closer to 12 or 16 inches per cu. ft.? I've never actually understood the difference between more port area per cu. ft. versus less. Which means if I unbridge it then it'll be 300 watts, which would then be optimal right? Again, know nothing about amps/electrical part of sound systems yet so don't criticize me too hard! I think those comps are single 4's only so whatever your amp says it can do at 2-ohms. Thing is, I've had the amp for a few years now because I got it as part of a full MTX enclosure. I don't remember exactly what the amp was rated at, but I'm pretty sure it was around the 500-600 watt area. I've tried calling MTX but haven't been successful in getting a person yet either xD Build in progress
