2K XJ Posted June 5, 2012 Author Report Share Posted June 5, 2012 My CB came in today Cobra 29 LX CHR LE I'm still waiting on my antenna, mount, and cable to come in then I'll get it all mounted up. I'm trying to find a good place to mount it. Its too big to fit between the seat and center console, and too long to hang from the roof. Right now I've got three possible places that I can think of. I can mount it to the side of my center console next to the shifter, or attached to the glovebox. I know that those will both work, just don't know which one would be better. I also have an idea which may work...I might be able to mount it in my center console... Only problem with that is right now the center console is too shallow, but I should be able to either completely take out the console tray or just cut out a rectangle to fit the cb through. I'm not sure how much extra space I would gain by taking the tray out because I don't know what is under it, does anyone know? Which way would you mount the cb if it was yours? Also I've been considering how I'm gonna build my Cherokee when I get it in a few weeks. I was trying to decide between 4.5 inches of lift on 33s or 3 inches on 31s. And seeing how yours looks is makibg me think 31s and 3 can't wait to see your next up date Thanks man. As for the lift, It depends on how much money you've got and if you think its worth it. Looking back, I would have gone with 4.5" and 33s. If your budget allows it, I'd do 4.5 on 33s. The lift itself will only cost a little bit more than the 3" kit, and you may have to do a SYE and/or a t-case drop, but other than that 4.5" isn't all that extreme so there aren't many mods you'll have to do. You will also probobly have to trim your fender flares a little bit or take them off if you choose to go that route. But in the end its your choice so do whatever you want. Just make sure you make a build log and post lots of pictures because I'll be interested in seeing how you go with it. And now onto one small update, my antenna came in yesterday. Its a 5' Firestick black fiberglass antenna.
