TheNewbie
Hey guys, so i was in my english class talkin with my teacher, who supprisingly was into car audio. He was explaining to me all about it then brought up he was more SQ and that they used a box that was air tight. Does anyone know about these? Or was he just messing with me. (For sealed enclosure of course) Thanks Check out my build log: http://www.stevemead...60#entry1958353 Different folks have different strokes. G-Rad
All sealed boxes are air tight, hence the reason they're called "sealed" boxes. Now as far as actual vacume sealed, I would have thought that'd mean like the actual air is vacumed out of the box before it's sealed off. In other words, there'd actually be a pressure differential from the inside of the enclosure. Lbox88
If someone WERE dumb enough to vacuum seal a box they would be quite unhappy as they started to suck the air out UBL | Build Log
Skullz
You do not want a vacuum inside the chamber as it will bottom the sub and damage it, same thing if you put pressure inside you force to sub out possibly causing the sub to come out the gap and damage itself. Just install it as normal with what ever the air pressure is at that time and you'll be fine. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

AmericanLegend
Nobody vacuum seals boxes; that would pull the woofers' motors into the gap. Done properly, boxes are air tight though and will wheeze a little when the subs are pressed in slowly.
