412 CVX
so i blew a couple of my CVX 12's because somebody had turned the bass up on my HU without me knowing it pissed me off, but whatever i need to rebuild anyways. even if kicker did decide to cover the blown woofer and recone it, don't think it's worth paying shipping both ways. was told that an SA recone might fit it. anybody know if it actually will? and what would be the pricing on one of the recones? SnowDrifter
Send both sundown and kicker asking about coil wind height, spider size, coil inner diameter, outer diameter etc and see how similar/different they are. I'm not sure how good it will turn out though. I would just assume get an actual SA-12 Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

412 CVX
i'm not planning on actually using the subwoofers, i'd just like to sell them to fund my rebuild. based on the looks of fixmyspeaker.com they're pretty damned pricey. like 100+ bucks just for a recone kit. i got the speakers at wholesale prices so for around 115 bucks. i'd love to get a decent recone kit for under or around 50. buying a new woofer is out of the question. BeAlLsTaR13
no CVX is a 2.6" coil, completely different depth as well if you really want it reconed the only option you really have is sending it to PSI (he will NOT assemble a drop in recone and send it for the l7/cvx motors due to their strange coil and gap sizes.. he charges 175 for a pair, thats not including shipping or return shipping) Edited December 2, 2011 by BeAlLsTaR13 Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------

Contact Kicker and ask if they can get you a recone kit they wont send a drop in kit, he will have to ship it to them, they will send him another "refurbished" one and just repair the one he sent in and replace it with someone else's woofer in the future Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------

BeAlLsTaR13
fair enough. say i was to gut the things. what would be a fair price on the motors? IMO you should contact PSI and see what he will pay for them, maybe like 70-85 or so i would think at least that would be 140-170$ depending on what you get, no money needed for any recones so that'll get you to 250-300$ for a set of new woofers jpagan has a pair of sa12s in the FS section for 250+ ship, basically new dual 2s Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------
