Bakerman
Okay, so I have an older BTL with the saucer magnet that was blown. So I ordered another motor from a guy on caco, and it was a saucer magnet also. But there are a couple of slight differences, and I'm curious if they will make a difference when reconing. First of all is the height of the middle of the magnet. The one on the left is the old one, and the one on the right is the one I recently ordered. The "new" one is slightly higher, but not alot. Kinda has me worried. Okay...secondly. The outer ring of the two magnets is slightly different. The old one is smoothe, and the "new" one has notches every couple of inches. smoothe notched And lastly is the spacers that go between the magnet and the basket. The old one had three sections of spacers, each section with two stacked spacers like so... The "new" one only had 1 stacked spacer under the basket... The only thing I see making a potential problem is the spacers...please help me out and tell me what I need to do to get these subs running the same. Thanx! Freshman6969
if you take one spacer away from the older one, would you say that it makes up the diffrence of the middle part? just my guess Quote Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k! NDMstang65
Specs the exact same (within >1%), we went to the pie shape magnets because the single 285mm slug was too hard to manufacture without flaws. 12's and 15's need those black spacers, 18's do not. (12 needs 2 layers, 15 needs 1 layer) Quote Authorized Ascendant Audio Dealer! Message me for information.
