(Easy) General Wiring Question

85 and 86 are the triggers. One must see +12v and the other Ground. It doesn't matter which. Then 87a and 87 are inputs and 30 is the output. When the relay is not triggered 87a and 30 are connected. Once the relay is triggered 87 and 30 are connected.

You can do all sorts of shit with relays. Most of your switches in your car are triggers for relays in fact. All with very similar connections. Most are - triggers to the relay to prevent shorts in wiring. Learning how to use relays has been one of the best things I could learn in car audio.

i would hook 87 to your battery or any constant source and fuse for about 10-15 amps, i dont see the leds drawing much more then that. and if you want to have lights come on whenever the radio is on just connect pin 85 to the remote wire. otherwise yes you could just put a jumper between 87 to 85 then run one lead to +12v.
