KillaCam
It is being given only CLEAN power and done by someone who's experienced. Quote And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth.. P-rez
If you know what you are doing it could work but don't clip it Quote Its All Good!!! Build on hold...
mcgothigan
So in theory if I put a woofer in a larger box bout 2-3 cubes bigger then needed and don't screw with the gain it could work?
extremeauto
it sounds like ur talking about sundown...the main reason u can over power those is they are built VERY WELL and underrated ...like the guy above me said it has alot to do with using clean power..if you send it clipped/dirty power its gonna fry the sub no matter what its power rating is...anther key is your box size and design...i my self know a lil about overpowering subs safely but its truly never a good idea unless its a sundown or another well built sub...other than that some1 who knows more should step in and explain whatever i missed also i think u need a smaller encloser to use more power Edited December 13, 2011 by extremeauto Quote 1995 Honda passport 3.2 4x4 Frankenstein on a budget ballistics sound deader (roof only so far) kenwood mp3 usb audio control 3 (upgrading) hifonics mx-3 3 sets of massive px5 5.25s 3 sets of massive tweets phonix gold 5.25 componets x2 massive nx4 nano 200x4 mids sony xplod 600x4 watt high's 2 Fi bl fully loaded box walled @31ish hz 13.2 cube box/wall massive DB8000 Excessive amaperge 250 amp alt wir extrnl regulator daul runs of xs power xpflex 0 gauge big 3 raptor 0 gauge power/ground wire full run suriken 45 amp hour x3 shriken bt-120 batts, interstate 1100CA semi batt scytek galaxy 2way alarm still upgradeing! mcgothigan
Close I was on about Skar audio... Cause they are making a 4500.1 amp so I wanted to get 1 when they come out and put it to work on 4 Vvx 15's and before I lay down the cash I want as much knowledge as possible
EBW
I run my 2 SA15's on 3k daily 1 ohm so their taking more than double what their rated for, you have to take into consideration box sizing port volume ect, making the box bigger will lower the thermal level lots of factors play into what is called overpowering. __d_a_v_i_d__
You also have to think about rise. Let's say you have 2 Sa subs, rated at 600 a piece , you put a sundown 3k on them, final load is 1 ohm, depending on box and such your rise might be 3 ohms on music so that's around 1000 watts ur subs are getting, so you'll never know unless you clamped the amp, see were you rise at. Adjust to that, bingpadaboom ! Quote Chevy Impala Shocker Sigs / TC Sounds 12s Sundown NS-1 | SAX 100.4 Sundown Neos | Dayton Audio Neos ETCCC ETCCC ETCCC My YouTube ---- Subcribe!!
