I called XS today, either of the batteries will work in our application, but each has their up and down sides. The D series has a 3 year warranty and the XP series only has a 2 year. The D series can easily pump the amps we need instantaneously while the XP may struggle a little but will keep up after the initial draw. I know droop will be a factor, but for our small budget, it is something we will have to live with.

Also if anyone knows a company who can make 100% custom alternators to charge our system, we need 144v charging at as high amps as we can (running multiple alts is more than fine, they will be ran off of an integrated gasoline motor).

I would look at Mechman I believe he built Steve's alts and he is a partner on this site so you can contact him from here just go to the Mechman page and ask over there should find your info. You can also check out Mike Singer or Excessive Amperage.

BTW what you're doing is powerful keep it up can't wait to see pics of this thing in action.

6v batteries will ALWAYS outperform the 12v batts

Ur standard 6v battery had over 200 amphrs so u would be loosing going to a 12v with 120 amp hrs

We considered 6v back in the day, but it came down to a size and weight issue, we want the vehicle as light as possible, and flooded 6v batteries were not a possibility due to their weight and size.

update: custom body panels are being fitted, pictures and videos will be posted when everything is done :) I can say it looks VERY mad max-like, though it could use some 50cals on the roof :D

We are working on the information for the charity, we have a couple in mind, if any of you have any please feel free to let me know!

(we are open to other charities to add with it, but the main focus will be breast cancer.)

But ur 12v battery weights 120lbs each with 120 amp hrs

Where ur 6v battert is half the size weights 45 lbs and is 220 amphrs.... there is a reason people don't use 12v batteries in electric cars, my brother-in-law has an electric are

I tried to get him to go xs but with the less amp hrs more weight, and size they really arnt the better fit

Love to see the finished project tho
