SQMonte Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 (edited) That's what i've come up with so far...can't fit 6" aero's in there cause the O.D. is over 9" each....my box is only 16" tall. So I figured I'd go with 3 4" ports from P.E. Gonna add the length to the port tubes by going to Home Depot and getting some PVC, gonna need 2ft. of it. The box is gonna be 35" wide, 19" deep, 16" tall, so 4cubes and tuned to 30Hz after displacement Any ideas, suggestions? 412 CVX Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 why not do a slot port? Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
herbykw Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I have those same ports and I wouldn't buy them again. The way they taper down when you add PVC to it, it leaves a gap and not a smooth surface. Just buy the PVC and flare it yourself. SQMonte Posted December 23, 2011 Author Report Posted December 23, 2011 What do I lose by not flaring it? Quote Alpine CDA-117...Memphis 16-X03 CDT Audio SQA-4100...SEAS Prestige H1396...Crescendo MP-6 Soundstream Rubicon 1.2500d...Digital Designs 3512f
MarioB Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 6" ports wouldnt fit even if you moved subs all the way the the outside edges? maybe the port would fit at either top center or bottom center? just a thought. Reminds me of some of the porns I've seen?
herbykw Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I got a noticeable gain by flaring, and it looks better. Also less port noise. I had 2 15"s in my monte with subs and ports forward and was able to have two 6" ports. herbykw Posted December 24, 2011 Report Posted December 24, 2011 i thought making flared 6" aero was going to be hard too but it wasnt It was fairly easy. My 3rd and 4th ones looked nice. The first two were uneven and ugly, they went on the inside. Many, I've been messing around on sketchup trying to get this shit to fit but not having any luck...i'm hearing a single 6" port doesn't give the pair of SA-12's enough port area so I've been trying to get dual in there, haha, ain't happening. If the difference is noticeable with flared vs. non-flared, i'm gonna do flared for sure....any help you could provide with this herby would be lovely since you have/had a MC and all. herbykw Posted December 24, 2011 Report Posted December 24, 2011 I will try to find the dimensions of the box, I tried to sell the box, no one wanted it, so i tore it apart about a week ago. Sealed off, with thick cardboard and duct tape It actually made a noticeable difference.
