ktraughb
Providing all other factors are equal-same distributed power, same frequency response, similar mounting locations etc. which would you prefer and why? im trying to decide for my front door panels in my 98 blazer. tweeters will be located either in a pillar or dash. i know that the frequency response will be similar, but wasnt sure that if still an 8 inch could have a better mid bass response simply due to cone size? If i did a pair of 8s, power to each would be about 150 watts. Of course, if two pairs of 6.5", power to each would be about 75 watts. My main reason for wanting to add mid is for the fact the current compnents lack response for a lot of guitars, etc. of course subs take care of below 80 hz, but the mid is really lacking in my vehicle. any help is appreciated, i dont often mess with multiple mid setups. C-Fizzy
8's. Not a lot of people see 8's in the doors. Unless they're on this forum lol. But it's a better wow factor. ktraughb
that is true. you do see a fair amount of 8s in here. and my other installer just added 8s from ssa to his doors, and i was simply amazed at the sound they can produce with his mb quart q amps. EclipseChris
8's would be cooler but would lack from prolly 800hz and up compared to 6.5s. Your tweets would have to get low unless you get some mid range speakers 3-5" on a good set of crossovers. Quote i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. ktraughb
yeah i did wonder about that. he also installed a center channel for full range fill. i will have some 2 ways installed in my rear doors for some fill, but wont affect much at all up front, so i may need to consider that fact. EclipseChris
Where you put a speaker typically only affects staging, how well it plays affects sound. Is it affect or effect? ktraughb
3 way active is up for consideration as well, but id have to make some other equipment changes too. tring to do this inexpensively. but im open to suggestions on how to properly compose an active 3 way on a budget. i use this vehicle daily, and while its built for bass, ive been wanting to step into a bit of sq. OrionStang
Its best to just spend the money now for some good gear. Otherwise you will be upgrading later. Why do it twice, save up for a while if you have to. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
