Sorry. I just noticed your comments and questions. Havnt checked my Build Thread in along time

damn bro i just saw your build.....nice work for sure.

Thank you!

That looks so badass. Putting the LED strips in the box was a good idea for sure. I bet you dont drive at night with the seat down. Talk about blinding lights. We need to see a DB test come on those things are hittin hard.

Seat stay up whild driving :) No need for them to be down anyway, lol. I dont know anyone around my area with a TL... I just built everything just for fun, something to do. Never thought about testing it, but it would be fun to know what its hitting.

Haha. Thanks dude. I started a thread because I was planning on doing a wall behind the rear seats and you guys seemed to not like that idea because you liked this box to much  I dont have the money anyway to start building something else.

Dude my Jeep had the same thing happen when I had my 3 JL's.

Wow. I did realize they used some shitty motors in these jeeps. I also had to replace my Sunroof motor!

im surprised no one asked you but what are the box specs and tuning set too?

Box is 41" L x 27" w x 24" H Around 10.5 cu ft. tuned to 33hz.

Port is 23.75" L x 5.5" H x 20" D

Very nice setup! That box looks nice man! Where can i get the maxxlink?

Thanks, appretiate it! You can email anyone over at maxxsonics.

Hey man, I just read this entire thread...AMAZING build and more so its only your 3rd box. Im researching how to build boxes with plexiglass and saw this link at the Crutchfield site (thanks who ever posted that)

Ive got acouple questions (if i can rember them)

1) how did you mount the glass? Im going to be doing 3/4 MDF ofcourse, and i figure ill do 3/4 plexi, it will then be flush....how do you screw it down?

--for some info I have a 06 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab, shallow mount subs dont put out what i want, and ive allready gone though 2 pairs of Kenwood Shallow's....So now im going to make my own box whichwill take up the middle of the rear seat and contour downto the floor as a base. I plan on using a JL w6v2, looking for a good SQ sub and a friend had one and he loved it.....Im thinking of having the sub at a minor angle towards the front/roof of the truck, and around the left, right and front sides of the box, having some glass, and use Amber collor LEDs for ambient lighting.

I dont have the exact designe writin down, but in my head I know what i want, im thinking 1 or 2 rectangle glass views on each side for the visual apeal and lighting, which goes back to the orig question....how to secure them?

2) Awsome job on the Support pieces inside the box. did you account for the discontinuity (sp?) of these pieces? or did you not really care that much about figuring exact volume of the box? I think ive got an idea of figuring out the displacment forumla, and if i dont rember it i can just google it.

again...amazing job, and thanks for the posting...I know im bring back an old topic.

Thanks man. Thanks for the PM also or I would have never known you brought this thread back up haha.

Ill have to get pics of my plexi because Ive had aocuple PMs now about it. On my box it is not flush, again Ill get some pics. I really just cut out the window in the box then screwed the plexi from the inside to cover it up.....so there is a 3/4 inch lip because of the thickness of the mdf.

Very easy and I think it still looks good.

As for the braces I didnt even take them into consideration when figuring my air space. So its probably off alittle from what I think it is. But it sounds great so it really doesnt matter :)

Your design seems like it'll be pretty damn cool looking. Especially with the plexi windows to see in. Good luck with it and have fun doing it.

Sorry if I couldnt help you out with flush mounting if thats what you plan to do.

na its cool man, thanks for the reply, and again I would really like to see the pics, though I have a good idea of what you did, yet gave me another idea also....perhaps i can just counter sink the plexi, or put the plexi on the inside of the box and sand down to a 45 degree angle, and go from there, but eaither way, it will work, So thanks for that, and if anything my orig idea will work too.

but again, pics are awsome.

thanks man
