I am giving 1200 rms a piece to each of my 4 15's and they get warm and stinky after just one minute of wanging, and I have even set my gain with a DD-1. They are rated at 600rms for a reason. I've bumped mine since the pre-order and they don't get smelly until around 1200 watts with an 1800 watt amp, so my guess if you clipped yours. Bad. When I hear music, I fear no danger.
