onyx1silverado Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) On my Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD HU the subwoofer goes from negative 20 to positive 6. If I turn it up to 6, is that when I'll get the most power from the sub preout or will that be just like a bass boost. fyerbyrd22 Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 ^^^why at zero instead of the h/u's max spot??...ive always wondered this Quote personal build in progress http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188656-2013-kia-sorento-6-12-no-wall/ www.facebook.com/TurbulentDesigns
Decaf Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 ^^^why at zero instead of the h/u's max spot??...ive always wondered this because if you use anything higher than 0 on this headunit you couldn't turn the volume up as much because the signal would clip/distort. You want the highest preout voltage possible so your amp amplifies the least. At lower volumes, or with quieter music you could go into the + range, but not at max full tilt CLEAN volume Quote
