These trucks get stupid low on any setup, heard a 2 door tahoe with two kicker 12's on like 1200rms and you could hear the truck like from the next street.

This is what i call a sound system vehicle i hate that my 07 yukon and all its plastic and rattling is not like this.

yeah i definitely love the build quality of this vehicle. in comparison to my old (much newer ford escape), the density of plastics, metals, even leather etc is huge. i think ill always keep this truck just to have. whether i wall it or not. about to post a few more pics. got a bit more done on these panels today.

some resin on the fleece for the first panel34vq_321_ua08c.jpg

some mat for reinforcement. these things are definitely solid. however, it didnt work out the way i planned for the top lip of the fiberglass. ill need to figure out a way to mask the edge with some form of trim. the good note is that after bondo is sanded, ill likely cover the lower section of these panels in stretchable vinyl or carpet. its forgiving when the bondo isnt perfect. in this case, it wont be perfect.

totally off topic, but Snoopdan stopped in and we played around with his piece of audio history-- the only Phoenix Gold Cyclone Ive ever seen or heard.

i know its ugly. it will turn out better than this.34vq_bb7_ua08c.jpg

going to attempt to get rid of that pocket line with another layer and then bondo. i wont be mad if it shows a bit. 34vq_6e8_ua08c.jpg

i resined the hell out of these today. they are definitely firm now. first coat of bondo is on, but forgot pics. ill get some of those up on monday. might even wait until after sanding--theyre in their ugly stage right. now. 31tv_c9a_ua08c.jpg

i know, tons of bondo. but the main idea is to hide the body lines. these are not going to be painted in the end, but simply carpeted over. bondo wont be an issue.

holes werent cut in the fabric on this one yet. ended up jig sawing the hole back out since resin went over a bit far.

they definitely have a way to go before theyre even ready for carpet. i need to do at least a rough sculpting sanding, then a finer sanding just so adhesive will stick well. plus along with sanding, one needs an edge grinded where the resined fleece rolled up on me. it was a second layer, and i should have stapled it down first. oh well, these are strong and certainly arent going anywhere. more to come.
