Thewes
call DD up and tell them you want to buy one and watch what all they ask you for . They know the big dogs that are running their woofers and who actually has a need for it . Dante and Terry Brocks are the only two i can think of right now I dont think Craig Butler has them in his van. DD believes that the 9515 and 9915s are more than enough for any average user whether they are a street beater or a competitor. They are not going to sell one to some rich kid who will power it with a 1kw amp and make them look bad. The only reason its even listed is so it can be said its commercially available that way the competitors who are using it dont get hit for using a woofer that no body else can get I was curious of what high-high-end subs are out there on the market, but money is a powerful thing, and if I was some rich kid who would end up powering a sub that I paid 6000 dollars for with a 1000/1 amp, then that would be that. Money gets shit done. But unfortunately I'm no where near the financial place i need to be to drop 6 stacks on a single sub.
paul
Here's another expensive sub said to sell at around $12,900. Makers claim it to be the most powerful sub. Personally, I think it is the most weird looking. Judge for yourself. Here's the link. Eminent Tech TRW17

Be a pretty useless driver for theatre if it couldn't play music, no? Thewes
Hate to play this side of things, but if you think about it, wouldn't a sub built for theaters, or movie theaters, be focusing mainly on sound effects, such as explosions and such. MickyMcD
Hate to play this side of things, but if you think about it, wouldn't a sub built for theaters, or movie theaters, be focusing mainly on sound effects, such as explosions and such. Which are either sub-bass or infrasonic just like a bassline to the soundtrack of the movie in a movie theatre, or the kick drum or timpany of a theatre, which sub-woofers are built to recreate. Therefore, no. Woofers don't discriminate between the bassline of a soundtrack or the bassline of an explosion. They are both sub bass frequencies at a set amplitude. Unless the frequency is too low for the woofer, it really isn't going to care that much. When getting technical, the frequency response and moving mass (amongst other things) will decide whether the woofer is going to handle music well in terms of clarity and fidelity. The rotary woofer is very sensitive (101db w/m I believe), so it handle music very well.
