hartman209 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 My pvc diameter is 4in and 10in long there are 2 ports the box is fairly big im not sure of the spec because i didnt build it. There is a divider in the sub box so each 15 has its own chamber. I didnt know that 2 mix matched amps would matter but all i had was the 1000watt soundstorm i had pushing my 10in type r and when i bought the 15's the guy gave me this 1100 walmart amp so i figured why not run both. I have 4ga wires. What amp would you guys recommend? I would like to build a ported box. size is no issue I have a huge trunk to play with. I had my 10in type r in a 6th order and it banged just as hard as one of the 15's so im sure i could get louder with a good box. Should i buy 2 more audiobahn 15's ? I know they arnt the best subs but they are 100 bux a pair. your port seems small i got 1 sundown zv.2 10 in 1.25 cubes tuned to 31ish and my four inch id port is 22 or 23 inchs long

But id rather have it be just a bit smaller that the whole trunk so i wouldnt have to worry about fitment. alaskanzx5 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 like everyone else said you need a single amp to run both subs somehting that does 1000-1200x 1 @1ohm or the same power at 2ohm. upgraded power and ground wires to 1/0 gauge would help. better ported box and an additional battery or 2 depending on the amp you get. if you can afford it an ho alt. gotta pay to play. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

"ray" on here has a thread for people to request designs from him. he would be a good guy to go to. I suggest reading threads and learning as much as you can before trying to re do your system. A properly build ported box will be much louder than a sealed box, but there is a lot more to it than just cutting hole and throwing in some PVC pipe. My 2 12s right now flex my winshield a little, so you just need to learn how to get everything working better together and you can do that. ^^ this!! LOOK. LISTEN. The buick is my winter car , Here in Michigan its no fun to drive the 97 trans am so i figure id at least be pounding if im driving a grandma whip =) ^ Thanks skittles Are good!!
