Nivram Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 Yeah im sure the 16ga wasnt very smart but hell it worked i think the 16ga wiring kit was only rated for 250watts. Thanks too all for all the input i cant wait to build a box!! My friend had a 1500watt audiopipe on his kicker comp 15 and it sounded amazing. Stick around, read a bit - you'll pick up on it pretty fast And by the way: it doesn't take much to shake windows and stuff. Example: My friend's single 12 on ~500watts(wild guess, never clamped) in a ported box in the trunk, which is sealed of from the rest of the car. Its enough to shake things across the dash and hold a dollar bill in the window (137.x@31 hz IIRC). It's hardly enough to satisfy a seasoned basshead for normal listening, but depending on what you know to be 'loud' - something like that could be the coolest thing ever for you as a first/second system. So yeah, its pretty easy, but VERY dependent on install. Pretty much anything says says it's CEA 2006 compliant will do what it says. If so then how the hell would i fit such a big box in my trunk? would i have to build the box in the trunk? litterally lol, I still would have no idea how to port tune if the box was some odd shape. I know it has somthing to do with the cubic ft and what kind of subs you have. I just really would like to take full advantage of my trunk rather than building a small rectangle box. but if i have to go that route then i guess it will have to work. Also what is the diff between slotports and aero ports besides the shape of course. are there any advantages/disadvanteges to these? Bigger box is usually more efficient on the same amount of power, but provides less power handling.
