Dual 4 or Dual 2?

Need 4 of them to wire down to 1 ohm at the amp. My math suggests Dual 2 but another installer told me to get dual 4's and wire 2 together and then the other 2 together and you would get 1 ohm at the amp. This makes no sense to me. From the12volt.com I would be right but I would really like to know if this guy knew what the hell he was talking about.

This makes no sense...I have a wiring diagram that shows me exactly what four D4 wiring options are...but still need to ask?

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

As I said in my first post his argument was that I could wire 2 d4's to one another take the other d4's and wire them to one another and then those together would make it 1 ohm at the amp. I figured I was right I even went to the12volt to confirm I was but he still argued the ladder (said he never heard of the12volt.vom) so I said I would bring it hear and if people responded my way I win. Also asked a few other installers here and I was reassured I was right, just wanted to prove a point is all.
